A New Lancero From Miami Cigar & Co.
As the market trend for thick cigars continues, Miami Cigar & Co. is going in the opposite direction and has launched the Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero, which is shipping to retailers now.
“The lancero has always been my favorite,” says brand owner Nestor Miranda. “It’s an elegant cigar, simple as that. At the end of the day, I smoke what I enjoy, and this is exactly that.”
Lanceros tend to be prized by connoisseurs because they offer a unique smoking perspective—the thin ring gauge places a greater emphasis on the wrapper as opposed to thick grandes, which start at 60 ring gauge and highlight the filler.
Made at La Aurora S.A. in the Dominican Republic, the Private Reserve Lancero measures 6 3/4 inches long by 40 ring gauge and is topped with a tightly coiled pigtail cap. It consists of a Dominican Corojo wrapper, Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 binder and a combination of fillers from Brazil, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
The Lancero comes in 10-count boxes featuring a deep blue, tiled-inspired design to highlight both Miranda’s Cuban heritage and Miami’s coastal aesthetic. It has a suggested retail price of $180, or $18 per cigar. Production is limited to 500 boxes.
To celebrate the release, an invitation-only party will be hosted by Miranda at Sabor Havana Cigars & Cocktail Lounge in Doral, Florida, in conjunction with Long Ashes Cigar Club.
